Our Commitment
Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverence, Uplift
These Cardinal Principles serve as the basis for everything we do. They also pay homage to the aspirations of our beloved founders and their unwavering commitment to the advancement of African Americans.
Since November 17, 1911, The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity has been an organization shaped by its unique makeup of African American college educated men committed to the betterment of African Americans. Upsilon Phi, New Jersey's first chapter has for more than 78 years contributed to the proud history of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
The dedication and hard work of our brothers have made Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the Upsilon Phi Chapter, Newark, NJ what they are today. Part of that commitment is the Annual Mardi Gras Scholarship Diner Dance which provides college scholarships to deserving students. In addition, our brothers support the follow public service initiatives:
- Recognize Local Achievers during the Achievement Week Celebration
